Earlier this year, in March 2025, RUN Foundation Uganda hosted the Graceway Church Mission Team for a landmark visit that culminated in the dedication of the Graceway Skills Lab at Galilee Health Institute. The visit highlighted the power of international partnerships in advancing healthcare education and community development in Uganda.
The Graceway Mission Team, led by Pastor Brandon, Tara Smith, and Ricardo, arrived in Uganda in early March and were warmly received at RUN Foundation’s Kampala Mission House, which served as their base throughout their activities in the central region. The team’s presence marked a period of high-impact medical training, school ministry outreach, and community engagement.
Key Highlights of the Mission
- Graceway Skills Lab Dedication: The highlight of the visit was the official dedication of the Graceway Skills Lab, a facility designed to equip students with essential dental skills, particularly those who come from our targeted communities. The lab represents a significant step toward building local capacity in dental healthcare.
- Hands-On Professional Training: A notable feature of the mission was a dental implant training session led by Dr. Greg Calloway at RUN Dental Clinic. Ugandan dentists and practitioners gained practical implantology skills, fostering professional growth and strengthening the local dental workforce.
- Western Uganda Outreach – Kabale: The team traveled to Kabale, where they conducted a GLOW Medical and Dental Outreach. Hundreds of community members benefited from consultations, dental checkups, treatment, and health education, illustrating the mission’s commitment to holistic healthcare.
The Graceway Mission Team also engaged students in educational settings:
- Twinbrook Elementary School: Children participated in Bible teaching, music, interactive games, and health awareness sessions.
- Kyambogo High School: Students were encouraged through motivational talks, counseling, and testimonies, fostering both personal and academic growth.
Additionally, the team explored Ugandan culture, visiting local craft markets and supporting small business vendors, further deepening their connection with the communities they served.
The dedication of the Graceway Skills Lab reinforces the strategic role of Galilee Health Institute in training healthcare professionals for underserved communities across Uganda. Students now have access to state-of-the-art facilities and practical learning experiences, equipping them to deliver essential healthcare services in rural areas.
The March mission underscored the importance of collaborative partnerships in creating sustainable healthcare solutions. Graceway Church’s ongoing support has been pivotal in advancing RUN Foundation’s mission to transform lives through healthcare, education, and skill development.
As the year draws to a close, RUN Foundation Uganda reflects on this milestone visit as a testament to the power of faith, partnership, and community-focused action in strengthening healthcare and educational opportunities across the country.
